This policy defines measures to ensure that System Certifications Limited (SCL) does not outsource decisions for granting, refusing, maintaining of certification, expanding or reducing the scope of certification, renewing, suspending or restoring, or withdrawing of certification.

The provisions of clause 7.5.2 of ISO_IEC_17021-1_2015 is stated as follow’s

“The decisions for granting, refusing, maintaining of certification, expanding or reducing the scope of certification, renewing, suspending or restoring, or withdrawing of certification shall not be outsourced”.

Based on the above, the management of SCL has developed procedure SCL-PRO-NiNAS -057, which describes the approved process for granting, refusing, maintaining of certification, expanding or reducing the scope of certification, renewing, suspending or restoring, or withdrawing of certification and which decisions MUST not be outsourced by SCL. 

To this, it is the POLICY of the management system Certification Limited to uphold the above requirement at all times and therefore regards any contravention of the above clause as a THREAT to its impartiality policy enshrined in policy SCL-POL-NiNAS -002.

Hence the act of outsourcing the decisions for granting, refusing, maintaining of certification, expanding or reducing the scope of certification, renewing, suspending or restoring, or withdrawing of certification to any other party is completely PROHIBITED at SCL.
